Wyvern

   
The Wyvern was a mythical fire-breathing dragon used in medieval heraldry; had the head of a dragon and the tail of a snake and a body with wings and two legs

  1. And was also the name of one of Vauxhall Motors cars manufactured between 1948 and 1951. Have you any idea what a Velox was?

  3. It is pronounced WHY-vern, Librarian.

    Velox is latin for swift so presumably Vauxhall were letting us know the Velox was a fast car. Interestingly, Geococcyx velox, is a large, long-legged member of the Cuckoo family, the Lesser Roadrunner.
