Picaresque

   

Picaresque means of or relating to an episodic style of fiction dealing with the adventures of a rough and dishonest but appealing hero; recounting the adventures of a rogue. (From the Spanish picaro meaning a rogue.)

  2. I wasn't but I've just discovered it is a Medieval songbook! (My immediate reaction was that it must be a mythical beast which was was confused about its sexuality!)
