This is something I suffer from a times - Lethologica is a psychological disorder that inhibits an individual's ability to articulate his or her thoughts by temporarily forgetting key words, phrases or names in conversation; the inability to remember the correct word.
A psychological disorder?? It's that bad? I thought it was a characteristic of many normal introverts. Sounds like another case of the extroverts defining normal as themselves.
ReplyDeleteIs that the same as aphasia?
ReplyDeleteI think it s less extreme than asphasia, Librarian.
ReplyDeleteBy psycholgical disorder I think what is meant is that the person normally has the ability to remember but on occasions (i.e. when suffering stress etc.) they suffer from it. As you sqay, GetchenJoanna, it al; depends what one means by normal - I'm not sure I have ever met a 'normal' person yet if all the 'disorders' are anything to go by!!
How lovely to have a proper name for this phenomenon. Thanks!
