Busman's holiday

A busman's holiday is a break or holiday doing something similar to that which you do for a living.   The idea being based on the idea of a busman going on a motoring holiday.  It was first recorded in 1893 in the UK.


The most interesting thing about the expression is that the word busman doesn’t appear in the dictionary or any other context.
